At a young age I was exposed to a very healthy and active lifestyle. Growing up in this area it is hard not to be active. Manhattan Beach is best known for its beautiful beaches, Volleyball community and Surfing. I grew up going to the beach, dancing, doing gymnastics and playing soccer. As I grew up things were not so simple for me. I had some traumatic experiences as a teenager, which led to eating disorders and other unhealthy habits. Luckily with the help of my family I was able to overcome these issues and began my journey into the fitness and health industry. After attending College at UCSB I became a certified Pilates instructor. Having danced at a young age I had a knack and a passion for movement. I was certified through the Pilates Institute of Southern California and till this day will never forget that process. Pilates taught me more than just a “method”. Pilates taught me to connect my mind, body and spirit. It also taught me to connect with that of other people as well. That whole “connection” aspect is what really lit my fire. Shortly after my certification I got married and had three beautiful little boys. Two of my sons were diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). I certainly didn’t expect this but again I learned so very much about the human body and the human spirit through my journey with my children. My Husband and I divorced when my third son was just one Year old. So again, life was not so simple. However I took these experiences and I grew from them. Rather than allow myself to ignore my own well being and self care, I decided to make my health (physically and mentally) a big priority. I also decided I needed something more for myself and my career because I so deeply wanted to help people feel their best despite the thing’s (both good and bad) life throws at us. This is when I stumbled across Integrative Nutrition Schools. I took a leap of faith and enrolled in the program and never looked back. I am now a certified health and nutrition coach. I now have the ability and knowledge to help others learn to get to the root of their health issues. I can help others discover their “sustainable lifestyle”. I can educate others on food, healthy eating, healthy habits, healthy relationships, healthy boundaries and so much more.
